Specific deliverables and timelines for paid services are defined in individual agreements, which govern where they conflict with these terms.

Our services include but are not limited to:

• DevSecOps maturity assessment
• Research publications and software engineering research
• Open-source projects and incubator programs

All services are subject to availability and may be modified or discontinued at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, the content on this site — including text, standards, graphics, branding, and educational materials — is owned by CESW or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission, except as explicitly licensed.

Our software quality standards, code quality best practices, certification frameworks, and assessment methodologies are proprietary to CESW and protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

Unauthorized use of our intellectual property may result in legal action, including but not limited to termination of services and legal remedies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our services responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws. Specifically, you agree not to:

5. Certification & Credentials

Software engineering certification credentials are issued based on assessment results and program requirements at the time of completion. CESW reserves the right to:

• Verify credentials and assessor qualifications
• Update standards and certification requirements
• Revoke credentials granted through fraudulent or improper conduct
• Investigate any suspected misuse of certification credentials

Certification holders must maintain compliance with ongoing requirements, including continuing education and renewal fees where applicable. Failure to meet these requirements may result in revocation of software engineering certification.

All software quality assurance (SQA) certification, secure coding certification, and code review certification online credentials are subject to these terms.

6. Open Source

Code published under our open-source projects is licensed separately under the terms indicated in each repository. Those licenses take precedence over these terms for the covered code.

Our open-source contributions are provided "as is" without warranties, and we welcome contributions from the community in accordance with our contribution guidelines.

By contributing to our open-source projects, you agree to license your contributions under the same terms as the project and grant CESW a perpetual, irrevocable license to use your contributions.

7. Third-Party Links

The site may link to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Links do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
